How It Works

UHM SEED Academy at Kapolei High School offers a blended curriculum of core courses taken online, and STEM enrichment classes in science, technology, engineering and math taken on campus at Kapolei High School. In addition, UHM SEED Academy students can participate in extracurricular school activities at Kapolei High School.

Take core courses online:

Students take core courses, including optional Advanced Placement courses, in language arts, math, science, social studies, world languages, and physical education online — anytime, anywhere they have internet access.

Engaging, multimedia course content is delivered over the internet via an interactive online learning environment.
Online instruction for each course is provided from 8AM to 2PM each weekday via Elluminate®, phone, email and live chat.
Supplemental instructional support may be provided off-campus via face-to-face sessions.

Take STEM electives on campus:

Students take STEM enrichment electives on the Kapolei High School campus scheduled during the weekday from 2PM to 4PM.

Classes are hands-on and project-based, designed to better prepare students for success in the 21st century.
Instruction is provided by highly qualified teachers in conjunction with industry experts.

Participate in student clubs and activities:

UHM SEED Academy students can enjoy all the benefits of the Kapolei High School campus*, including participating in service, academic, and special interest clubs.

* Only students who live within the Kapolei district can join team sports
